How I Helped An Aggressive German Shepherd In Less Than 10 Minutes

Okay, maybe you’ve noticed that my writing as of late has not been to the usual high standard you expect and are used to.

I don’t have an excuse but I do have an explanation.

I’ve been fighting a cold for the past few weeks. I just couldn’t shake it. Probably my fault because I would start feeling good and go back to work which I think prolonged the whole thing.

But, I am cautiously optimistic. I think I finally turned the corner and am on the road back.

It’s tough finding any motivation to do anything, not to mention that it’s easy to get grouchy when you’re feeling awful.

This is the same with your dog. A dog that is sick or in pain can display behavior problems and it is often overlooked.

The first step for me when I am dealing with an aggressive dog is to make sure the dog does not have any physical problems.

I once was called in to work with a German Shepherd that was having aggression problems.

The first meeting was extremely short. I was there for about 10 minutes and I could tell by the way he was getting up that he had some hip problems. I instructed the owners to bring him to their vet to have the hips checked out. Hip dysplasia.

The dog needed an operation and was fine afterwards. It was NOT a behavior problem it was a physical problem and they did not need my help once the hips were taken care of.

So keep this in mind if you’re having any behavior problems with your dog. Once you rule out any physical problems you can move forward with your obedience training and then I can help you.

It’s what the Dog Training Inner Circle is all about. And best of all you can get started for JUST $1.00.
