Middletown RI Dog Trainer Shares Dog Training Tip Inspired By Dale Carnegie

Being a dog trainer is one of the greatest professions. I get to meet so many great people and dogs from all over and one place I love going to is Aquidneck Island. Being a Middletown RI dog trainer allows me to stop in at my favorite place: Barnes N Noble!

The Barnes & Noble bookstore in Middletown Ri is a great place to grab a coffee and browse some books. This week’s trip there was very exciting because I found a book that made me happier than a tick on a big dog. The book was, “Self Help Messiah.” It is a biography on one of my favorite authors, Dale Carnegie.

I read and applied much of what he teaches in my younger days. One of my favorite quotes struck me and really changed the direction of my life. When I was about 28, I broke up with my girlfriend, had no place to live, was fired from my job and had no money.

As I was trying to figure out what to do, I was reading Dale Carnegie’s books and I came across this quote:

“People rarely succeed unless they have fun in what they are doing.”

At the time I was looking for a job but decided to scrap that idea and start my own dog training business. What could be more fun than that? I quickly discovered that a lot of people do NOT enjoy training their dogs. They love their dogs, they like spending time with their dogs, but often get frustrated and upset with their dogs.

My new goal after starting my business was to make dog training as fun and easy as I could. It took a while to come up with my own system, but I did and still teach it the same way. I share my system in my dog training classes.
