How do you write everyday?
I get asked that question more than any other. Even though I make my living as a dog trainer, most people ask me about writing.
Do you have some kind of system you follow? Where do you get your ideas? How do write so much?
The answer is really simple.
The way to write every day is to…..
……write.
I know, a simple answer but that’s me….a simple guy. If you think about it, that is the way to accomplish anything.
If you want a trained dog you have to work at it. You have to spend a few minutes everyday and do some training. In the beginning the results may not be great but over time you get better and your dog gets better.
If you were to see my early attempts at writing you would laugh your head off – it was terrible.
I was also pretty bad at training dogs but like anything else, it is a skill that can be learned.
But reading about it, watching videos, talking to trainers and thinking about it will never train your dog to do ANYTHING.
The way to get results is to grab your pup’s favorite treats and head out. So let me give you a few tips to get the most out of every training session:
- It all starts with thought. What are your thoughts about training? Do you sit there and procrastinate about doing it? Change your thoughts and think about how much fun it is and how training will transform your dog into the envy of friends and family.
- Train when you’re fresh. Training after a tough day at work is not a good idea.
- Have fun! Yeah I said it. Have some fun while you’re training and don’t take the whole process too seriously because you probably won’t do it for too long if you’re all uptight and tense about training.
And speaking of fun – Leash Walking Secrets is all about fun. Discover how you can get the biggest dog, the most out of control dog, the smallest dog to walk on leash without a ton of struggle or sweat.
